Back Pain: Causes & Home Remedies


Back pain or backache mostly occurs in the lower back and midback of the body. Backache or back pain is prevalent among older people. 8 people out of 10 people experience backache or back pain in their respective life. Mostly the older people face extreme backache or back pain their age, sometimes they aren’t even able to stand up because of the back pain. Back pain is a serious matter and it should have to be treated in the same manner. Backache or back pain gives us a sort of paralysis and makes us helpless doing work and any other thing. Mostly backache or back pain are definable in three types of it and those types are-


Acute pain: Acute back pain does not remain for a long time; this back pain occurs because of lifting overweight objects and high physical work.


Subacute pain: Subacute back pain last from 4 weeks to 12 weeks, and this back pain occurs due to our daily lifestyle, and negligence towards its treatment can lead subacute back pain to chronic pain.


Chronic pain: Chronic back pain remains long with a person; this back pain is prevalent among older people.

 There are a few major causes of backaches or back pain mentioned below:

  • If you have a sitting job, try to move in every half an hour
  • Sleep in a good posture
  • Eat healthy food

  • Don’t lift heavyweight 
  • Limit your excessive strain
  • Increase the physical movement


Home remedies for Back Pain-

Follow the back pain home remedies mentioned below to treat your back pain at home-


First home remedy for Back Pain:

Ingredients: Ginger


Step 1: Crush the fresh ginger using a traditional crusher to make a coarse paste of it.

Step 2: Apply the paste on the back properly, especially the area of back pain, wait till the paste turn dry.

Step 3: Take a clean warm wet cloth and clean the paste of ginger properly.


Instructions: A person with back pain can try this once a week or more. 


Second home remedy for Back Pain:

Ingredients: Turmeric, milk, and pure ghee


Step 1: Blend the dry turmeric pods and make a good powder of them.

Step 2: Take a glass of warm milk, add one spoon of pure ghee with ½ spoon of turmeric powder.

 Step 3: Mix it well by pouring the milk from one glass to another, till the milk froth come up.


Instructions: Drink this mixture regularly in a standing position.


Third home remedy for Back Pain:

Ingredients: Mustard oil and garlic 


Step 1: Heat the 2 to 3 spoons of mustard oil with 2-3 cloves of garlic in the iron wok (kadai)

Step 2: Heat the oil and garlic till the cloves of garlic turn black or completely burned.

Step 3: strain the oil and wait till it becomes comfortably warm.


Instructions: Massage your back pain area with this oil, this home remedy for back pain works inherently. This back pain remedy is also helpful for joint pain. (Exercise of a minimum of 15 minutes is a must)


Fourth home remedy for Back Pain:

Ingredients: Lemon and salt


Step 1: squeeze the sap of lemon into a small bowl.

Step 2: Mix one or two pinch of salt into the lemon sap.


Instructions: Take this lemon and salt mixture twice a day.


Fifth home remedy for Back Pain:

Ingredients: Camphor and coconut oil


Step 1: Take 4 to 5 balls of camphor and put them on the coconut oil, and boil it

Step 2: After boiling, strain the oil and keep it in the bottle.


Instructions: massage your back two times a week to treat back pain at home. This home remedy for back pain is also helpful in curing joint pain.


Sixth home remedy for Back Pain:

Ingredients: Eucalyptus oil


Instructions: Mix a few drops of eucalyptus oil in the warm or lukewarm water bucket, and take a bath with this to relieve yourself of back pain or backaches. This home remedy for back pain reliefs your entire body and relaxes all the pain of the body.
